Privacy Policy

How queri collects, stores, and protects data.

The short version

queri does not require an account. There is no sign-up, no login, and no cloud sync of your course progress. Your lessons, streak, XP, badges and settings are stored only on your device. We do not run ads, and we do not sell or share personal data with advertisers.

Data stored on your device

Everything the app needs to teach you SQL and track your progress lives locally, using standard on-device storage (secure storage and a local database):

  • Course progress: which lessons you've completed, your current streak, and lesson attempt history
  • Gamification data: level, XP, coins, badges earned, and completed daily or weekly missions
  • The query you typed: your SQL, kept locally so you can pick a lesson back up where you left it
  • Preferences: language and any in-app settings
  • License status (if you've purchased Pro): activation state and expiry, cached locally so lessons stay unlocked offline

None of this leaves your device unless described below. Uninstalling the app deletes it.

Data involved in unlocking Pro

queri's course execution and grading never talk to a server. The only network activity in the app is unlocking the paid tier, and it differs by platform:

iOS

Purchases are handled entirely by the App Store and our subscription provider, RevenueCat. We receive an entitlement status (active or not) — never your payment details, which Apple processes directly.

Android

Pro is unlocked with a license key purchased through Ko-fi, an external payment processor. Activating a key sends a randomly generated device identifier — not your name or a persistent advertising ID — to our license server, along with the key itself. If you provide an email to receive or restore a key, that email is the one you gave to Ko-fi at checkout, and it is used only to look up or resend your license.

We do not read your contacts, location, camera, microphone, or any other device data. queri does not request those permissions.

The contact form

If you use the contact page, the name, email address and message you submit are sent to our support inbox so we can reply to you. We use this only to respond to your message.

No ads, no third-party analytics

queri does not display advertising and does not embed third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the app. Nothing about how you use the app is tracked for marketing purposes.

Data retention

  • On-device course data: kept until you delete the app, or reset progress from within it
  • License records (Android): kept on our license server for as long as needed to validate and support your purchase
  • Contact form messages: kept only as long as needed to resolve your inquiry, then deleted

Your rights

Because there is no account, most of your data is already fully in your control — it's on your device, and you can delete it at any time by resetting progress or uninstalling the app. For anything held on our side (a license record or a contact-form message), email [email protected] and we will locate and delete it. We respond to deletion requests within 30 days.

Children's privacy

queri is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. queri's Pro purchase flow is not shown or offered to anyone who has not reached the free lesson-8 gate, and no payment information is ever collected by the app itself.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters — for example if queri ever adds an account, cloud sync, or analytics — this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change.
